Woolston Brass and narrator Paul van Uden will perform Thomas Goss’ inventive ‘Tāne and the Kiwi’ – a New Zealand tale! Text by Jennifer Moss and Thomas Goss, this work is based on the classic radio story and book ‘How the Kiwi Lost its Wings’ by Alwyn Owen, with this particular version specifically commissioned by Woolston Brass from Thomas Goss for this performance. Tāne and the Kiwi tell the story of the kind kiwi who gave up a chance to soar among the tree-tops but looked after the roots of the trees instead, ensuring that the forest would flourish for everyone to enjoy.
Experience the story of the much-loved bird with the smallest wings and the biggest heart, retold with magical music and narration. Don’t miss this special performance and one of Zealand’s finest and most versatile brass bands located right here in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
