SEMI-FINALIST PRIZE WINNERS AND FINALISTS

The audience at The Piano were treated to six amazing performances from our Semi-finalists on Wednesday evening. It was commented our competitors seem to get better and better each year and our Adjudicators, Terence Dennis and Glenn Riddle commented there were at least four or five other competitors who could have easily made the semi-final!

Semi-Final is tonight (Wednesday 7th December), 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. at The Piano, 156 Armagh Street, Christchurch

Door sales – Adults $20.00; Student/Child $10.00 – Cash or Eftpos.  Doors open at 6.15 p.m.

REMINDER! REMINDER!

 
A quick reminder the Preliminaries and Semi-Finals begins next week on Tuesday 6th December at 3.00 p.m. with the Semi-Final on Wednesday 7th December at 7.00 p.m.  Venue is:  The Piano, 156 Armagh Street, Christchurch.
 
Works performed in the preliminaries include well-known concertos by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt, but also feature compositions by Medtner, Franck and Moszkowski. 

We are live-streaming the semi-final this year.  Click on the link below to The Piano youtube channel.   Live streaming of the semi-final will be available from 6.50 p.m. on Wednesday 7th December.

We have been gathering financial support which as you all may know is vital for the competition’s survival and I would like to acknowledge and thank the following contributors so far:

Welcome to the 2022 /2023 National Concerto Competition which is a Piano competition.

Entries for the Competition open on Monday 11th July 2022.  Entries close on Friday 14th October 2022 and entry fee is $120.00.   The entry fee must accompany your online application otherwise it will not be processed.

Dates for the first stage of the Competition are set out below

Venue for the Rehearsals, Preliminaries and Semi-Final is the The Piano, 156 Armagh Street, Christchurch

Rehearsal: Tuesday 6th December 2022  (morning and afternoon sessions)

Preliminaries: Tuesday 6th December 2022 (evening session)

Preliminaries: Wednesday 7th December 2022 (morning session)

Semi-Final: Wednesday 7th December 2022 at 7.00 p.m.

Please note: Depending of number of entries the above sessions are subject to change. These will be confirmed after 14th October when all the entries are in.
