Woolston Brass, led by Music Director Phil Johnston, presents a night of bold and evocative works including Johan de Meij’s “Extreme Makeover” and “UFO Concerto,” featuring Guest Euphonium Soloist Byron “Buzz” Newton. This immersive concert also includes Verdi’s “Overture to the Opera Nabucco” and Morten Lauridsen’s haunting “O Magnum Mysterium”.
Guest Soloist Byron Newton’s remarkable journey – from Ashburton roots and a former Woolston Brass Euphonium player to international and national orchestral and brass band stages, adds extra brilliance to the evening.
