Woolston Concert Brass will perform Eric Ball’s ‘Star Lake’ and Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s ‘Enter the Galaxies’, and feature Soloist Wayne Coddington performing ‘Let Me Try Again’ and Soloists Bruce Muschamp and Josiah Brown performing Bizet’s ‘Deep Inside The Sacred Temple’. Nor’west Brass will perform Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘Theme from The Mandalorian’ arranged by Christopher Bond and Peter Kneale’s ‘Variations on a Welsh Theme’. You’ll be sure to have a blast and be impressed by these two talented brass bands right here in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Led by newly appointed Music Director Matt Toomata, Woolston Concert Brass is part of the Woolston Brass Academy and has recently been promoted to B grade in the Brass Band Association of New Zealand (BBANZ). Many Academy members progress to Christchurch’s iconic Woolston Brass (A Grade band led by Music Director Tyme Marsters), who are known for their musical excellence and versatility as a popular stage performer and New Zealand’s most successful contesting band. Their leading Academy education programme consisting of two training bands and a learners group teaches over 80 children and adults, and provides a positive environment for them to learn music and engage with the community through concert performances, local and National contests.

Led by Music Director Nic Scott, Nor’west Brass is their flagship band and consists of their most advanced players. Nor’west Brass is currently registered as a C grade Band in the Brass Band Association of New Zealand (BBANZ). Nor’west has additional training bands and a learners group with approximately 80 active playing members, and their bands regularly participate in local and National brass contests as well as share the music with the local community.
