Waimakariri Community Arts Council presents “Menagerie South”

Waimakariri Community Arts Council in association with Chamber Music New Zealand presents “Menagerie South” on Saturday 2nd May 2015; 7.30 p.m. at the Chamber Gallery, Rangiora Library.

Menagerie South featuring the South Island based musicians Tessa Petersen (Violin), John Van Buskirk (Piano) and Mark Walton (Clarinet).  Their “Heritage Salutes” programme opens with a clarinet sonatina by Douglas Lilburn, this country’s pioneering composer whose centenary is celebrated this year.

Jean Sibelius – Vier Stucke (Four Pieces) for Violin and Piano, op. 115
Christopher Marshall – Three Aspects of Spring for Violin, Clarinet and Piano (1995, r.2003)

Niels Gade – Fantasiestucke for Clarinet and Piano,op.43
Niels Gade – Folk Dances in a Nordic Character for Violin and Piano. op. 62
Carl Nielsen – Fantasy for Clarinet and Piano
Marc Eychenne – Cantilene et Danse for Violin for Piano, Violin and Saxophone

Tickets are $30.00 Adults; $10.00 Students from the Rangiora Library.  Cash or cheque only please.
