Nut Point Centre presents “A Cecilian Serenade”

Nut Point Centre presents “A Cecilian Serenade” on Saturday 25th June 2016 at 7.30 p.m.

“A Cecilian Serenade” will be a concert featuring music and/or lyrics of Shakespeare’s era performed by the Cecilian Singers, as 2016 is the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.  Much, but not all, of the material will use lyrics or themes written by Shakespeare, but the music itself will vary in style and era.  Some music will not use Shakespeare’s words but will be from the era.  It sounds complicated but there will be a great variety.  The Cecilian’s guest artists are the Fair Wind Recorder Ensemble of the CSM lead by Neville Forsythe.  They specialise in performing music of the last millennium, mainly on recorders of 8 different sizes.  Saturday’s performance will feature a reproduction set of renaissance recorders.
