International Jazz Day: “Big Band Bash” at Fat Eddie’s

Three 18-piece bands take the stage at Fat Eddie’s on the Terrace in Ōtautahi Christchurch for 5 hours of Big Band Jazz. Featuring Garden City Big Band, Sideline Swing and, celebrating their 10-year anniversary, the All-Girl Big Band. These bands will leave you asking for more on the dance floor at this free event. Thanks to Fat Eddie’s for supporting International Jazz Day and the Christchurch Big Band Jazz Festival. Donations to the Christchurch Big Band Jazz Festival are welcome. Occurring every year at Labour weekend (22 – 26 October 2026) we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this unique festival. What better way to kick off the planning than a Big Band Bash at Fat Eddie’s on International Jazz Day.
