Christopher’s Classics Autumn Series – “Sweet Chance”

Christopher’s Classics Autumn Series presents  on Thursday 2nd March 2017 soprano Morag Atchison and mezzo soprano Catrin Johnsson, accompanied by Rachel Fuller on piano in “Sweet Chance”, a programme revelling in songs about nature, the countryside, the sky and the seasons.  The three studied together at the Royal Academy of Music in London and have performed internationally as soloists.  Recital repertoire is at the heart of their music making, from the sublime to the ridiculous.  Samples songs:

• Lilburn – Three Songs;
• Brahms – Four Duets for soprano, alto and piano from Op. 61;
• Greig – from Haugtussa, op. 67;
• Greer – four songs from A Sarah Binks Songbook(The Sweet Songstress of Saskatchewan); and
• Schoenberg – Brettl-Lieder (Cabaret Songs).
