For 30 years Christchurch City Choir (CCC) has enchanted audiences with its annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, and following a year of disruption, this exultant masterpiece returns to the Christchurch Town Hall.

NZ based soprano, Anna Pierard, and mezzo-soprano, Catrin Johnsson, will perform alongside overseas based tenor, Oliver Sewell, and bass-baritone, Paul Whelan. These four internationally renowned soloists will sing with the choir (including members of the Christchurch Youth Choir), supported by the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO), Jeremy Woodside and Grant Bartley (Continuo), under the baton of Dr John Linker.

2020’s Messiah marks the start of the Christchurch City Choir’s 30th Anniversary.
