Christchurch City Chorus is searching for our next Music Director.
For 40 years, under the leadership of Master Director 700 Virginia Humphrey-Taylor, we have built a proud legacy as one of Aotearoa’s most successful barbershop and performing ensembles. Our journey includes:
- Winning Sweet Adelines New Zealand regional championships in every year we have entered since 1990
- Reaching the Top 10 at Sweet Adelines International five times since 2007
- Most recently, achieving 5th place internationally in 2024
- Being named Pan Pacific Women’s Chorus Champions and New Zealand Women’s Chorus Champions at the 2023 Barbershop Harmony New Zealand Pan Pacific contest
- Creating shows and performances that engage audiences across Ōtautahi Christchurch and beyond
Now we are looking for someone new to guide us into our next era. This opportunity is open to experienced directors as well as highly skilled emerging musicians who have the passion, vision, and ability to inspire singers at the highest level.
