Christchurch City Chorus presents “The Greatest Christmas Show”

Christmas and Happy New Year Greetings to everyone

As the holiday season approaches I am sure we are all looking forward to a break from the worries of Covid worldwide, and to resting and enjoying the company of our friends and family, so we are ready for 2021.

This year has meant quite a change  in everything we do as a chorus, for the many of you who have sung with us previously. Several large changes in approach occurred:

We are actively seeking new members all through a year

We chose to not “assess” and give individual feedback to our members about their singing, therefore trialing true personal responsibility.

We also have welcomed 5 ChCh based people and 5 more from around New Zealand,  to sing with us purely for the joy of singing,  in our December 12th shows this year, whether they have auditioned to get into Christchurch City Chorus or not. They are really enjoying it. In spite of Covid, we have successfully learnt new beautiful songs, This is the moment, Happy/All about the bass, Fame  Footloose, This is me, plus some lovely new Christmas music , and the gospel version of the Hallelujah Chorus to sing in a combined 200 strong chorus with The Vocal Collective, and their fabulous Court Theatre, and Theatre Royal Musical Director, and CCC’s newest, talented NZ coach, Richard Marrett.

The shows will be magical and joy filled. You can sing along too!

I look forward to welcoming you at 2pm or 7pm, at the brand new, gloriously fitted out,  McCombs Auditorium, Cashmere High School.  Plenty of parking on site entering from Barrington Street or park on Rose Street and walk through the pedestrian gate to the auditorium.

There are door sales of course, or you can book now on Humanitix.com website who donate booking fees to NZ charities.

We are also live streaming the shows, so families and people who love excellent a Cappella show music, great NZ music and Christmas singing,  from all over the world, can watch and enjoy their buddies, mum,  sister, friend, grand mum, aunt,  and of course all the male counterparts in The Vocal Collective too.

Look for:

The Greatest Christmas Show

I have attached a flier for your interest with all you need to know.

With best wishes for a lovely festive season everyone, and I do hope to see you soon. Thank you for all the joy you have brought me throughout the years.
