NZ Barok
Leading baroque specialists from all over New Zealand have come together to form NZ Barok, the country’s only baroque orchestra. These dedicated musicians perform using instruments and playing styles of the 18th century, breathing new life into classical and baroque masterpieces and lesser-known musical treasures.
James Bush
Christchurch born cellist James Bush, winner of both the Television New Zealand Young Musicians Competition and the National Concerto Competition of New Zealand, has returned to this country after many years in Europe, including 10 years working as principal cellist with Al Ayre Espanol. While overseas, he appeared regularly with Akademie fur Alte Musik, Berlin, with orchestras such as Concerto Kohn and B-Rock, and as guest principal cellist for productions with the Semper Opera in Dresden and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. James has recorded with Deutsche Harmonia Mundi (SONY), Naïve, Harmonia Mundi, Challenge Classics and Winter & Winter.
