Christopher’s Classics Series XXI – 2016 – “A Play on Words”

$15 – $40Christopher’s Classics Series XXI 2016 – Affetto presents “A Play on Words” on Thursday 20th October 2015, 7.30 p.m. at The Piano, 156 Armagh Street, Christchurch 8140.
Singer Jayne Tankersley, accompanied by Peter Reid, cornetto and baroque trumpet; Polly Sussex, viola and baroque cello; Rachel Griffiths-Hughes, harpsichord and organ; and Philip Griffin, theorbo; make up the award winning Hamilton/Auckland based early music group, Affetto.
The programme includes music by Dowland, Byrd, Purcell, Handel, Clarke, Eccles, Blow, Oritz, Caroso, Merula and Falconieri. Exultation (Lady Macbeth) has been written for Affetto by Hamilton composer, Janet Jennings.
