Camerata Strings present Nocturne with conductors Patrick Shepherd and Marcus Norman with Keith Sayers and Jacqueline Kotula (Oboes).

Sunday 30th June at 3.00 p.m.   Venue is Avonhead School Hall, Avonhead Road, Christchurch.

Tickets are $10/$5 (student/unwaged); $20 (families).
Tickets available at the door.

Nocturne is a serene programme of beautiful music ideal for a restful Sunday afternoon.  Central to the programme is Dvorak’s Nocturne, a work of simple charm and elegance.  Complementing this is New Zealander Claire Cowan’s minimalist score Story, which featured in Kirsty Macdonald’s film Assume Nothing.  Keith Sayers performs Corelli/Barbirolli’s Concerto for Oboe and Strings, one of the most popular works in the oboe repertoire, and fellow oboist Jacqueline Kotula performs Gabriel’s Oboe, the haunting tune by Ennio Morricone from the film “This Mission”.  Opening the programme is Purcell’s Pavane and Chaconne and rounding off the afternoon is Albinoni’s Concerto in C for Two Oboes, featuring our two oboe soloists again.
