PHILLIP RHODES TEAMS UP WITH MARK W DORRELL & THE DAME MALVINA MAJOR STUDIO ARTISTS IN CHRISTCHURCH
New Zealand’s internationally renowned baritone Phillip Rhodes (Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Kahungunu) is a charismatic performer who has worked on some of the most prestigious stages of the world, including the Royal Opera House, Welsh National Opera and Opera North. No stranger to New Zealand audiences, Phillip began his career as a former Emerging Artist with New Zealand Opera and the Dame Malvina Major Foundation (DMMF) and has performed in many productions here. Teaming up with this year’s DMMF NZ Opera Studio Artists Katherine Winitana (Nga Ariki Kaiputahi, Ngati Kahungunu) (soprano) and Katie Trigg (mezzo soprano) along with Mark W Dorrell on piano. They will present ‘the journey to today’, a concert showcasing some of Phillip’s favourite moments from his stellar international career.
